Users – General Information
This article provides general information about user roles, access codes, keypad behavior, and timing rules for E-Plex and PowerPlex electronic locks.
User Roles and Access Codes
- Master and Manager users can perform two functions:
- Open the door by entering the access code without using the # key.
- Enter Pushbutton Programming Mode by entering the # key before and after their access code.
- Each user (Manager User, Service User, or Access User) occupies one of the 100 available user locations in the user table.
- By default, user location 000 is assigned to the Master User.
Keypad Timing Rules
- Users must enter the complete key sequence within 15 seconds.
- Users have a maximum of 5 seconds between each keypress.
- If a user exceeds either time limit, the lock:
- Aborts the current programming sequence
- Automatically exits programming mode
- Displays a Keypad Timeout feedback message
Correcting Input Errors
If an invalid entry occurs during a command sequence, press the * key to clear all input entered since the beginning of the current command.
This action resets the programming sequence and restarts the 15-second time limit, allowing the user to re-enter the complete access code.
