Question:
Why does the Community Encoder not work?
Answer:
Please refer to the steps below if this error occurs.
Steps:
- Trace the USB cord on the back of the encoder to the USP port it connects to on the computer.
- Disconnect the cable, wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Alternatively, plug it into another available USB port, then try to make keys.
- If that does not work, check that the services are running.
- Type 'services' in the search bar, then select the "Services" system app.
- In the service manager window, locate the "Community Client" and the "Community Encoder" services.
- If either of the services is not running, right-click on one of them and select "Start".
- If the option to start the service is greyed out, please request an admin username and password from your IT and call our support line for the next steps.
- Please note: the Community Encoder service will only be available on a Community Server installation.
- If it is not running, click on the service and select "Start". If the option to start the service is greyed out, please request an admin username and password from your IT and call our support line for the next steps.
