Question
How do I evaluate my access control system for migration to Aurora?
Answer
1. The first step is to evaluate your access control hardware
Aurora is not compatible with competitor access control hardware. Replacement is the only option
Use the table below to evaluate your Keyscan hardware for migration to Aurora
Controller is green | Replace with a new controller | |
Controller is blue with jumpers | ![]() | Replace with a new controller |
Controller is blue with switches | ![]() | Controller is Aurora ready. Update firmware to the most current release with FWSACU, as necessary |
2. The second step is to evaluate your software
System III & System V | There is no direct migration. Please contact Support |
System VII | A migration tool is included with Aurora |
Vantage | A migration tool is included with Aurora |
Other Access Software | There is no direct migration. Please contact Support |
3. The final step is to evaluate your other hardware
- CPB-10, CPB-10-2, CB-485, ECM & GCM should be replaced with CIMs and/or NETCOMs
- Green NETCOM boards might work, consider replacement
- 9600 baud-rate serial connections are unsupported, consider moving to network
- Custom firmware from System VII & Vantage might not be supported by Aurora
- Keyscan Elite Key readers & credentials are discontinued, consider upgrading
- 3rd party proprietary reader formats might not work with an Aurora system
4. Contact Support with any questions or concerns regarding your migration
