Battery Life and Replacement – E-Plex 36xx/37xx/56xx/57xx Series Locks

These locks use 4 AA alkaline batteries only. Battery life depends on factors such as shelf life, daily openings, access mode (card-only or PIN + card), environment, battery brand, and lock settings. Under average conditions, a full set of 4 AA alkaline batteries can last up to 150,000 openings.

Low Battery Indication

A low battery condition is indicated by a simultaneous flash of red and green LEDs when a valid credential is presented. The lock will continue to operate for approximately 500 additional openings.

It is strongly recommended to replace all four batteries immediately upon low battery indication, especially in cold temperatures, which can reduce battery life significantly.
