When a Community/Ambiance installation utilizes Aurora for common areas, there are a few setup items that commonly generate calls to the EAD Support queue.
Server setup is the most common call, especially regarding installation issues. Support recommends always installing the software packages on their own server. This generates fewer installation issues and allows the recovery of a failed system without affecting the other installation.
Failed synchronization is another major call driver, and it is typically resolved with firewall rules. Please review the following article regarding ports: What Ports Does Keyscan Aurora Use?
The following setup guide was written in collaboration with the Support teams to help with common questions: Aurora Community Integration Document
Aurora can utilize non-SRK readers, typically 26-bit long-range readers, for gates and garage doors. The Keyscan panels cannot have split formats. 26bit readers must be installed on their own panels. These panels require the integration reader proms. For questions on this, please contact Keyscan Support.
Current SRK readers are sold with Mifare Classic disabled for security reasons. If this feature is required, please follow the steps below. For assistance with this process, please contact Community Support.
- Ensure that Standard (Mifare Classic) is enabled within Community
- Synchronize the HH6 with the Community Database
- The HH6 firmware might need to be updated (v2.39+ required)
- Program the Reader(s) with the HH6
It is recommended that any Technician dealing with an Aurora/Community installation/Integration receive training from both the Hotel/lodging and the Keyscan Aurora trainers. Please visit the dormakaba webpage to contact the training team.
