Steps to Update the Personal Certificate
Step 1: Remove Expired Certificate
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Type
certlm.mscand press Enter. - Expand Personal → Certificates.
- Locate and delete the expired E-Plex certificate (typically CN=127.0.0.1).
Step 2: Remove Certificate from Aurora
- Right-click the Aurora icon and select Run as administrator.
- Open Settings → Applications Utilities.
- Navigate to the Security Tab.
- Delete the Personal Certificate (CN=127.0.0.1 typical).

Click Save
Step 3: Create a New Personal Certificate
In the Enter server IP field, enter the server IP address (
127.0.0.1is typical).Click Create New Certificate.
Click Save.
Step 4: Export the Certificate
Click Export PKCS #12.
Follow the prompts and save the
.pfxfile.Record the password used during export (required in the next step).
Step 5: Install the New Certificate
Right-click the exported
.pfxfile and select Install PFX.Select Local Machine, then click Next.
Confirm the file location and click Next.
Enter the password created during export and click Next.
Select Place all certificates in the following store.
Click Browse, select Personal, and click OK.
Click Next, then Finish.
Step 6: Restart E-Plex Services
Press Windows + R.
Enter
services.mscand press Enter.-
Stop the following services:
dormakaba HMS
EPLEX Server
Wait approximately 10 seconds.

Start both services again.
Step 7: Verify Gateway Status
Open Aurora.
Check the Gateway Status widget.

Confirm that the E-Plex gateways are back online.
Troubleshooting
If the gateways do not return online or certificate renewal fails:
Verify all steps were completed with administrator privileges
Confirm the certificate was installed in the Personal Certificate store
Ensure the correct server IP address was used
