Bolt Will Not Retract After Dial Is Spun and Green Light Is Displayed

If the combination is accepted (green light displayed) but the bolt does not retract, review the following checks.

First determine the installation condition:

• Is the door open or closed?
• Is this a new installation or an existing/older installation?

For Deadbolt Locks

• Check the orientation of the spindle. In the locked position, the grooves must face the bolt of the lock.
• Ensure the red lip at the 12 o’clock position is covered by the dial. If unsuccessful, repeat the attempt at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions.
• Once opened, verify the spindle groove position as noted above.
• Inspect the dial for any visible damage.

For Swingbolt Locks

• Check for pressure from the safe’s bolt work against the lock bolt.
• Inspect the mounting plate condition. A distorted mounting plate can bind the lock mechanism.
