Description

This operation resembles the Privacy function of a conventional deadbolt lock. Any valid user can disengage the swingbolt by entering a valid credential and turning the thumbturn. The swingbolt fully retracts and stays retracted, placing the lock in a “latch holdback” mode, which allows free access without entering credentials. To engage the swingbolt, perform the same steps in reverse, returning it to the horizontal (home) locked position.

Resolution

Required User Level: Master, Manager, Access User, or Service User

1. Disengage the Swingbolt (Retract)
   1. Enter or present a valid Credential.
      The lock flashes the green LED to indicate valid access.
   2. Turn and hold the thumbturn clockwise on the front housing.
      The swingbolt fully retracts downward and remains retracted.
   3. Release the thumbturn.
      The thumbturn returns to the horizontal (home) position while the swingbolt remains disengaged.
2. Disengage the Swingbolt Using the Mechanical Override Key
   1. Insert the mechanical override key into the cylinder and turn it clockwise from vertical to horizontal.
   2. Keep the key in the horizontal position and turn and hold the thumbturn clockwise.
      The swingbolt fully retracts downward.
   3. Release the thumbturn so it returns to the horizontal (home) position.
   4. Turn the key back to vertical and remove it.
      The swingbolt remains disengaged.
   5. Warning: Always re-engage the swingbolt when not needed to avoid compromising security.
3. Engage the Swingbolt (Project / Lock)
   1. Enter or present a valid Credential.
      The lock flashes the green LED to confirm authorization.
   2. Turn and hold the thumbturn clockwise.
      The swingbolt moves upward and returns to its locked, horizontal (home) position.
   3. Release the thumbturn.
      The swingbolt remains engaged and the thumbturn returns to the home position.

4. Engage the Swingbolt Using the Mechanical Override Key

   1. Insert the mechanical override key into the cylinder and turn it clockwise to horizontal.
   2. Keep the key horizontal and turn and hold the thumbturn clockwise.
      The swingbolt projects upward to its locked, horizontal (home) position.
   3. Release the thumbturn so it returns to the home position.
   4. Turn the key back to vertical and remove it.

   Warning: Always re-engage the swingbolt when not needed to maintain security.

Additional notes

• Important: Swingbolt engagement (project) and disengagement (retract) are strictly manual actions using the thumbturn. This function is not programmable or automatic. Always re-lock if left retracted/open.
• Any user with a valid Credential can engage or disengage the swingbolt at any time.
• When disengaged, the swingbolt stays retracted when the door closes, allowing users to enter without using a credential.
• From the interior side of the door, any person (valid user or not) can manually engage or disengage the swingbolt to lock or unlock the door.
