How to do the Hard Reset when User Knows the Master Code in E-Plex 5xxx Series?

Description

This procedure allows a user with the Master Code to perform a hard reset on an E-Plex 5xxx lock. Insert the mechanical override key, press the # key, and release the reset button to enter Reset Sequence State. 
The lock provides a 20-second window to enter the Master Code. If entered correctly, the lock resets to its unprogrammed state. Incorrect attempts decrement the Tamper Count. After four failed attempts, the lock enters a 30-second Tamper Shutdown.

Resolution

User knows the Master Code:

1. Insert Mechanical Override Key
   1. Insert the key and turn counterclockwise, holding the lock in the open position (cylindrical latch retracted).
   2. Within 5 seconds, press the # key and release the key.
2. Enter Reset Sequence State
   1. Press the # key and release the reset button within 5 seconds.
   2. If 5 seconds pass without pressing #, the lock resumes normal operation. 
      Pressing # enters Reset Sequence State, indicated by alternating flashing Green and Red LEDs every second.
   3. If any other key is pressed or timeout occurs after #, the lock exits the sequence and returns to access state.
3. Enter Master Code
   1. Users have 20 seconds to enter the correct Master Code.
   2. If correct, the lock performs a hard reset and returns to unprogrammed state.
   3. If incorrect, the Tamper Count decreases. After four failed attempts, the lock enters a 30-second Tamper Shutdown, then resumes normal operations.
   4. If no Master Code is entered during the 20-second window, the lock assumes the Master Code is unknown and begins a 15-minute wait period.
