System Security Overview
The LA GARD 700 Series safe lock implements multiple security measures to protect information:
- Encrypts data during transmission
- Encrypts data at rest
- Authenticates devices with mutual encryption
Initial Combination Handling
Manager and Standard Users must change their combination on first use and after a combination reset. This requirement does not apply to the Master User.
Display Keypads
Display keypads provide on-screen options for users to change their combination. If a user attempts to open a lock during authentication, the opening sequence is aborted. The user must complete the combination change before restarting the opening sequence.
Non-Display Keypads
Non-display keypads signal an error when a combination change is required. Users can press the # key to change their combination. The error is indicated by three red LED flashes and three low beeps. For model-specific # commands, refer to Appendix D.
