Wrong Try Penalty in LA GARD 700 Series
The Wrong Try Penalty is triggered when a user enters an incorrect credential 4 consecutive times.
Penalty Behavior:
- A 5-minute penalty period is enforced.
- During this time:
- No connected safe lock can be opened.
- All keypad menu access and command inputs are disabled.
- After the 5-minute period ends: 2 consecutive incorrect credential attempts will trigger another 5-minute penalty.
- The penalty cycle does not expire automatically.
- The cycle will only reset after a successful lock opening.
Display Keypads:
While the penalty is active:
- 2 short low beeps and 2 short red flashes repeat every 10 seconds.
- The remaining penalty time is displayed on the screen.
- Any key press triggers: 2 short low beeps and 2 red flashes
When the penalty ends:
- The LED flashes green twice.
- The keypad emits 2 high beeps.
Non-Display Keypads:
While the penalty is active:
- 2 short low beeps and 2 short red flashes repeat every 10 seconds.
- Any key press triggers: 1 short low beep
When the penalty ends:
- The LED flashes green twice.
- The keypad emits 2 high beeps.
Note: If power to the keypad is interrupted during a Wrong Try Penalty:
- The penalty will resume once power is restored.
- The remaining time will continue from where it left off.
