Question How to Reinstall Keypad in LA GARD 700 Series? |
Answer A new Keypad can be installed into a system to replace a damaged unit. This operation can be completed by an authorized user. An Audit record will be recorded to the lock to indicate which user installed the new keypad. Once paired, the system returns to regular operation. Keypads with display screens offer prompts to guide the user through the process. Refer to the Keypad Installation Guide (Document #7033.0322) for the specific command sequence for both Non-Display and Display keypads. Note: The system will only recognize the same Keypad model as before, otherwise it will reject the reinstall process. If installing a new model of Keypad, all locks attached to the system must be reset/uninstalled and reinstalled prior to installing the new Keypad. If the keypad model used for the reinstall does not have the BLE option and the previous keypad was the same type but with the BLE option (e.g. replacing a 703B with a 703 model) AND the system is configured to require Dual Credential, then any user required to present Dual Credentials will not be able to perform any actions associated with their role. Since the Master user is always Single Credential, the Master user can perform the actions associated with his role. Under these conditions, the Master user will be able to change the Credential Mode to Single Credential using the keypad. After “fixing” the credential mode, the Credential Mode option will no longer be shown in the System Menu since the only valid Credential Mode for an Entry without BLE is Single Credential. |
