How to Install (Electronically Pair) Lock and OLED Display Keypad in LA GARD 700 Series?

Answer

The system requires that a lock and keypad be connected through an Install or pairing activity. This can be done before or after the Keypad and Lock have been mounted to the safe. To facilitate test opening, physical fit placement, it is recommended that you physically mount the Keypad and Lock prior to setting up the system. Refer to the Safe Lock Installation Guide for detailed instruction on the physical mounting of the Lock and Keypad. (7034.1121)

Follow these steps to “INSTALL” (logically, electronically pair) a Safe Lock to an OLED Display Keypad: 

1. Press any button to Open factory setting Menu
2. To test the opening of the lock, highlight “Open Lock” and press the (←).
3. On the Open Lock screen, press the numeric key corresponding to the lock you want to open.
4. “Lock Open” will appear on-screen. Press the # key to return to the previous menu.
5. Use the keypad to select “Change Combo”
6. When prompted, enter the Master ID [00] and default Master Combination [12345678]
7. When prompted, enter the new 8-digit combination.
8. When prompted, enter the new 8-digit combination again to confirm the change.
9. Press (˅) to highlight “INSTALL LOCK”
10. Press <return key> (←)
11. Enter Master ID + Combination [00 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _]
12. If this is the Primary Lock in a system of multiple locks, scroll to “YES”, then Press <return key> (←)
13. Message appears – “Success Lock Installed”
