Overview
This article outlines the minimum system requirements and supported configurations for running Keyscan Aurora access control software in small system deployments supporting 1 to 25 doors. It includes recommended hardware specifications, supported operating systems, peripheral requirements, and virtual machine considerations. These specifications apply to installations using IP-connected Keyscan access control units. Meeting or exceeding the listed requirements helps ensure reliable system performance and stability.
System Architecture 1-25 Doors
Small System Hardware Specifications
| Recommended Minimum Requirements for Each Computer | ||
| CPU Processor | Intel Core i7-4770 3.40 GHz or faster | |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM 1600 MHz DDR3 NON-ECC or greater | |
| Hard Drive | 500 GB of available space, 7,200 RPM SATA | |
| Network Adapter Card | Ethernet Port = 1GB Network Card | |
| Operating Systems Support | For 1 to 5 IP-connected access control units |
Windows Desktop OS software:
|
| For 5 or more IP-connected access control units |
Windows Server OS removes the IP connection limit and provides greater communication flexibility when using more than 5 IP-connected control units.
|
|
| DVD Drive | 8X Internal for 3rd Party Software Installation (if necessary): DVD burner for backup and secondary storage. | |
| Peripherals | Monitor: System compatible with 1024x768 or higher resolution (single or dual monitor) Keyboard: System compatible USB Port: Optional |
|
| Additional Notes | |||
| System Performance | Overall system performance will improve as CPU processor, available RAM, or hard drive read/write specifications exceed the minimum requirements listed above. | ||
| Virtual Machine Server | Keyscan Aurora supports virtual machine topology, provided that all licensed and required Keyscan software applications are allocated sufficient server resources for proper system performance and that the VM software/server is supported by qualified IT personnel. For best results in VM, dedicate hardware resources to the network card and serial or USB port for the Keyscan image. Virtual machine topology does not always provide optimal system performance. |
