Strato Activation Guide
Checkpoint #1 – Adding Mobile Device to Software
Create Mobile User
- In the software, navigate to the Lock Users screen.
- Click the blue plus button to add a new user; enter the User ID and assign a Role.
- In the Credential section of the user screen, add a Mobile PIN. Copy or make note of PIN – it will require change on first login.
Download App
- Download the “Dormakaba Safe Locks App” from the App store or Play Store and make sure it is the newest version.
- Double check that the Mobile Device can reach the server. One of the following methods is acceptable:
- The phone and the server are on the same network (simplest),
- The phone can VPN into the network where the server is, or
- The server has a public IP address that can be reached over the internet, and the mobile device has cellular data connectivity.
Add Device and Login
- In the software, navigate to “Mobile Management” tab and “Mobile Devices”
- Click the blue plus button to add a new mobile device.
- Enter a name for device, enter the device ID from bottom of the Mobile App login set up screen, select the licensed products you want to use this device with and select save.
- Double check that time/date are set correctly on both the device and server.
10. On the mobile device, scan the QR code generated in software on mobile device tab or manually enter the IP address, claim code and port.
- Log in with User ID and PIN created above.
Checkpoint #2 – Add Strato System to Software
- In the software, navigate to “Locks” and “Lock Systems” tab.
- Click blue plus button to “Add new Strato Lock System”.
- Enter the lock name and GAP Address of the lock.
- Note: The GAP Address is located on the Bluetooth Adapter that is plugged into the Strato. It is under the “MAC ADDRESS” on the label. See below:

- Click save in Lock Systems screen to save this lock system.
Checkpoint #3 – Activate Mobile Device and Lock System together
- In the Lock System in the Software, select “Activate Lock System” and choose the User and Device to which you are logged into on the mobile, and select “Dispatch”.
- Log into the dormakaba Safe Locks app on the mobile device and you will get a pop up saying there is an activation package for the new Strato lock.
- Select Dismiss on the popup and find your lock (GAP Address) in the Find Locks tab of the mobile device. Once you find it, click on the GAP Address and the mobile and Strato will connect and activate.
- You will get a message on the mobile saying Lock was activated successfully.
- Ensure all information is synchronized to backend software by checking the “Sync” section of the app for any packages.
Checkpoint #4 – Issue a One Time Code
- In the software, navigate to the “One Time Code” tab and click into the desired Lock System
- Select “Dispatch” and toggle on and off desired options. Issue the OTC to a Lock User and a Mobile Device. Select Save.
- Once One Time Code is received on mobile device, discover your Strato lock in the Find Locks tab of the mobile device and select it.
Wait a couple of seconds and once the Key Button turns blue on the mobile, click it and your Strato will unlock.
Remain on this page until the lock is closed and “Lock Successfully Closed” message appears, which confirms the activation is complete end.
