SIMPLEX®/E-PLEX® Warranty Coverage
What Is Covered
dormakaba (“dormakaba USA Inc. and dormakaba Canada Inc.”) warrants that the products manufactured by dormakaba are free from defects in materials and workmanship.
The sole and exclusive liability of dormakaba under this warranty is limited, at dormakaba’s discretion, to the repair or replacement of any product or component part covered by this warranty.
Who Is Covered
This warranty is extended only to dormakaba’s authorized distributors and to the end user who purchases products for purposes other than resale (collectively, the “Purchaser”).
Warranty Terms
Seller warrants only that all products sold pursuant to a Quotation or Purchase Order will conform to the description in the applicable Price Book and will be free from defects in workmanship and materials.
The duration of each product warranty depends on the specific product. Extended warranties may be available at an additional cost.
Exclusions
Seller is not responsible for defects or damages resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear
- Consumable materials
- Vandalism
- Fire, storms, floods, or other acts of God
- Misuse, abuse, or alteration by any party other than Seller
Title Warranty
Seller further warrants that Buyer will receive good and valid title to the products.
Claims and Remedies
Any claim for nonconforming or defective products, or for any other cause, shall be deemed waived unless written notice is provided to Seller promptly after discovery and no later than sixty (60) days from the date of shipment.
Seller shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Repair the product
- Replace the product
- Refund the purchase price upon return of the product
- Grant a reasonable allowance for the defect or nonconformance
Seller’s liability and Buyer’s exclusive remedy shall be limited solely to one of the remedies listed above.
Seller must be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate all claims. No materials may be returned without Seller’s inspection, approval, and written shipping instructions.
Buyer acknowledges that these remedies are Buyer’s exclusive remedies for the delivery of nonconforming or defective products.
Warranty Period – Outside the United States and Canada
For projects located outside the United States or Canada, the limited warranty period for all products is 1 to 3 years, depending on the product, measured from the date of manufacture.
dormakaba regional businesses outside the United States or Canada may offer different warranty periods.
“United States and Canada” includes the several states of the United States, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories and possessions, and the provinces and territories of Canada.
Additional Warranty Conditions
- No credit will be provided for work performed by others during the warranty period.
- Warranty work will be performed during normal business hours using standard response times. Work performed outside normal business hours or with expedited response times may be billable.
- Products repaired or replaced under warranty are covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE, THERE IS NO WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
No warranties shall be implied by law with respect to Seller’s products or services.
