Oxidized Connections on Saffire Locks

Description

Oxidation is occurring on exposed electrical connections within Saffire locks.

Resolution

Apply Nyogel 760G to all exposed low-voltage electrical connections, including:

• Power wire terminals
• Privacy switch connectors
• Wi-Fi board connectors on EVO locks
• Zigbee antenna connectors on Dormakaba RX-equipped locks

Gaskets must also be installed to isolate the lock from the door surface. LX and LZ Series locks include gaskets by default and they must remain in place.

Applies To

LX Series and LZ Series locks — all models.

Note: These models include gaskets as standard components. Other lock models may require gasket kits to be purchased separately.

Additional Information

Verify that door smoke seals create a complete perimeter seal, which helps prevent airflow and moisture transfer around the door edge and frame. Inspect the door surface to ensure it is smooth and free of defects that would prevent the gasket from forming a proper seal.
